Origin
The Pomeranian has its origin from the Pomerania region of Historical eastern Germany that is now the part of northern Poland and part of modern eastern Germany. It has been considered to be the toy dog breed as it is small in size. Pomeranian dog belonged to the family of Spitz and determined by FCI as a part of German Spitz family. In German and other foreign speaking languages the Pomeranians are known by the names Toy German Spitz or Zwergspitz.
Behavior
If you keep this dog as your pet you will realize this dog is very friendly and extremely loyal companion. It is very active and at times vigilant and can be conveniently trained. It can be a very good watchdog as it is intelligent and courageous. At times it can also work as guard dogs as they become alert when they sense danger and bark.
Grooming
The Pomeranians enjoy walking, are very active and keen to learn anything new. These dogs will not find any problem to adjust with the other pets if the approach to introduce them to other pets is slow and proper. Due to small stature it is suggested not to keep them in such homes where there are small children as they can become temperamental. But if kept with older and well-behaved children they are the best companions to them and for families.
