Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu is the dog that has its origin from China and is said to be the oldest and the smallest dog among the Tibetan holy dogs. The name of this dog is both singular as well as plural and its somewhat lion-like looks are associated with the snow-lion. It is also known as Xi Shi after the name of the most beautiful woman of the same name. This dog breed has beautiful long, flowing double coat.

They have hair similar to humans; they lose hair slowly while grooming or in the shower. The breed walks with a pride and their eyes convey warmth and human like qualities. They love to have companions but instead of going out they feel like being inside the house with their family. The Shih Tzu is not delicate like the other toy breeds. If you want they can be best watch dogs and can be very good friend of yours. They stick to their owners and detest being separated from them. If you leave them alone for long time they will resort to violence and destructiveness otherwise they are easy to manage, usually calm and quiet and love to be playful.

The Shih Tzu expects pampering and loves to spoil itself by too much care and love. It is sometimes very stubborn.
